According to a Medicare press release dated August 10, 2010, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced that the third round of one-time, tax-free $250 rebate checks have been mailed to eligible Medicare beneficiaries whose drug costs are so high they have reached the Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage gap known as the “donut hole.” Read full text of the release at http://www.hhs.gov/news/press/2010pres/08/20100810a.html.

Medicare's Annual Election Period will start on this day! If you are already a Medicare beneficiary, you can at that point start researching plans for January 1, 2011 effective dates. If you are going to be first eligible for Medicare January 1, 2011, and are in your Initial Election Period, you can submit applications starting on that day.
November 15, 2010
As of this day, Medicare allows all beneficiaries to apply for coverage for January 1, 2011. Please submit applications to Senior Educators by fax at 1-415-358-8003, or by mail to:
