How do I apply for Medicare Part D?

Because Medicare Part D is only available through private insurance companies, you do not apply for Part D through Medicare or Social Security.  You can apply for Medicare Part D through a free service like Senior Educators Insurance Services, or you can apply through one of the insurance companies that contracts with Medicare to provide Part D products.

The benefit of applying through our organization is that when plans change, as they do every year, we can help you determine whether changing your Part D plan is in your best interest. Because we are paid by insurance companies to provide this service, the cost you pay is never different regardless of how you enroll in Part D.
